I'll second that. If a feature doesn't work on many laptop environments, I would call that a bug. If that feature is not seriously considered, it shouldn't be offered in a stable release. If there is an intended feature of Ubuntu which has a bug, It should be investigated, added to the list of bugs, and made known to others who might look at it. It should be scheduled to be fixed sometime, not simply ignored. Easy for me to say 'fix it', when I am not directly contributing to the code (writing code). But I know that unfortunately, I am not up to speed enough to be able to contribute in such a way, as I would like. But as a developer, I know the importance and value of a large group of willing testers. And Ubuntu has these. All those users who when finding a bug, don't just swear and curse the operating system, but try to help those who can fix it not just for them, but for everyone, by giving some of their valuable time to accurately describe the problem. I am quite sure everyone here who has reported information on this bug is willing to reply with any information that can help the development team of Ubuntu, should they be asked, in order to help make Ubuntu better for everyone.
