I've observed same behaviour on 2.6.24-15 - latest available - on old C2D T5500 (Uniwill M31e laptop), which worked perfectly in Gutsy. Cannot insert acpi_cpufreq, and speedstep_centrino not even available:
FATAL: Error inserting acpi_cpufreq (/lib/modules/2.6.22-15-generic/kernel/arch/x86_64/kernel/cpufreq/acpi- cpufreq.ko): No such device Everything works ok booting with custom-compiled vanilla 2.6.24-3 kernel (using acpi-cpufreq, kernel compiled back-then for Gutsy), so I suspect kernel folks messed something up a bit... These new kernel cause a lot of troubles - alsa and cpufreq-related stuff just does not work properly. -- ubuntu does not support frequency scaling with intel T9300 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/201890 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
