Unfortunately I can't provide the log files as I fixed the problem
before I found this bug entry. :)

It seems the dependency cycle stops update-manager from upgrading. After
I uninstalled audacious-plugins-extra via Synaptic the upgrade from
(xubuntu) 7.10 to 8.04 (beta) progressed. I would guess this is rather a
bug in audacious then update-manager? Then again, update-manager should
be able to resolve stuff like this itself or provide a solution and not
just quit.
