I have just tried and cannot connect to a Windows machine (terminal services) using vinagre which I think is expected due to vinagre being a VNC client.
However I can see confusion happening, because nowadays Windows refers to 'Terminal Services' as 'Remote Desktop'. In Ubuntu 8.04 Beta 1, vinagre is named as 'Remote Desktop Viewer', which will be confusing to new users coming from Windows. In my opinion it would be better to name vinagre as 'VNC Viewer', for the following reasons: * vinagre only uses VNC * Remote Desktop name conflicts with the naming of a different technology (RDP) * Someone wishing to use VNC will typically know to look for VNC (as they would have installed or enabled it on another machine) In summary it would be less confusing for less experienced users and experienced users alike. -- remove tsclient from hardy as it duplicates the functionnality of vinagre https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210219 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
