Public bug reported:
Sorry re lack of detailed info but having to report this from windows
and there was no network access in my Kubuntu install.
Kubuntu 8.04 KDE4 Remix
Installed using wubi installer
Attempting to edit a system file using 'sudo kate', e.g. 'sudo kate
/etc/network/interfaces'
- got 'kate not found message'
- kate ran fine when invoked as normal user
Was able to work around by using absolute path:
sudo /usr/lib/kde4/bin/kate /etc/network/interfaces
I presume the PATH env var is not set correctly for sudo invokes.
