Further Notes: This error occurred with the default ltsp installation using the installer CD 8.04 amd64 Beta. This installer installs ltsp environment for amd64 kernel clients (not a problem since my clients support 64 bit cpu). Again ltsp loaded ldm and gnome just fine, and recognized the local device (flash drive) but can not open/interpret the files.
I downloaded the latest ltsp-server and standalone packages version 5.0.40...5 then did a ltsp-build-client --arch=i386 and changed the dhcp pointers to the i386 files, restarted dhcp, etc.. Voila- now I can read the files on the flash drive. I suspect that the HW is NOT the problem as the CPU is spec'd to EM64T, so I think it has something to do with the amd64 ltsp build environemnt, probably a build/config error with a hardcoded architecture or 32 bit file or something, but I don't know enough to say for sure. I hope this helps :-) -- localdev appears but not readable https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/213527 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
