Public bug reported: Binary package hint: tracker
Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 Development Tracker 0.6.6 I have a laptop and wanted to do a blitz index of my entire drive to get it out of the way. My settings are attached below, but after taking about 5 minutes just to figure out how many files it needed to index, it would go to the index mode and would constantly be interrupted by the system. The CPU usage was zero, and the hard drive showed reading/writing once every second. I would also wave the mouse over the applet to get status messages and every second on the second it would switch between "Indexing" to "paused by system." As you can see from my settings below, nothing I set gave any situation when it would do anything but index. I even disabled the "stop when on battery" options thinking that it wasn't recognizing that it was on ac power and the smart pausing. I did all this and made sure to restart the computer as well. But same thing. No indexing. Paused by some system process. ** Affects: tracker (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Tracker switches between "Indexing" and "Paused by System" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216866 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
