Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image

I'm currently running Hardy Beta and keeping it up-to-date with dayly
updates. With the new 2.6.24-kernels the lid-button of my Samsung X20
seems to be completely broken. It worked flawlessly with the
2.6.20-kernels from feisty. Since suspend didn't work with the
2.6.22-kernels from gutsy I never used them so I unfortunately can't
tell, whether the lid-button worked there...

cat'ing /proc/acpi/event doesn't show up anything when closing the lid. It does
however show up the right events when pushing the power- or sleepbuttons.
Same thing with the command "lshal -m": Correct events for power/sleepbutton,
battery, ac-adapter and so on but nothing for lid button.

Here is what's in /proc/acpi/button/lid:
cat /proc/acpi/button/lid/LID0/*
type: Lid Switch
state: closed

This is the output of /proc/acpi/button/lid/LID0/ directly after a
normal boot without having closed the lid or done anything else with the
laptop!

The kernel-image I'm currently running on is 2.6.24-16.30-generic . I
will attach the dmesg-output. Can I provide any more information?
