I certainly disagree, politically.  All the English brutalisations of
names in other languages should be eliminated.  But I suppose a movement
like this can't be started by Ubuntu.  I think we should follow Google
Maps' lead.  As you pan around the map of the world, the names of places
appear in their native language.  Certainly not a problem with
Unicode...
