Thanks to Daniel and Wenzhuo for the help. I'll use the info to do my best to try to find what happens. For Linux sake and the working of this machine. I'm a computer geek, but quite new to Linux.
But, but, but... Could someone look at Bug #213747, too? It describes random application crashes on the same hardware and software. Hardware is sane (Windows XP runs like a charm). Could it be that, for some reason, the same bug happens earlier so that it affects the booting kernel instead that only (or mostly) the applications? We might solve a hard to find bug, that way. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
