I am still having similar problems, gutsy 1.3.3.9.dfsg-1ubuntu1 In nautilus I have the choice to set scribus as default for text files, but then obviously all text files will be associated to scribus which is pretty annoying. Actually my usr/share/mime/scribus.xml is empty but I have no idea if that could have changed through reassigning the default for text files a few times before I had look at it. Hope that helps and that the issue gets resolved at some point
