Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

There is already a summary at bug #218990

The crux of what I'm reporting is not simply that rhythmbox crashed,
that should be expected when rhythmbox attempts to run an opengl
visualization that doesn't properly report to gstreamer that it uses
opengl. (shouldn't have to really)

What I am reporting is that once I selected a 'bad' plugin, there is no
way to deselect it. Visualization plugins are only accessible when music
is playing and plugins are turned on, but this bug crashes rhythmbox
when music is playing and plugins are on.

The workaround is to open gconf-editor and remove the plugin, but this
is not documented anywhere that is easy to find for someone new to
gnome/debian/ubuntu and for someone fresh from windows this is a show
stopper. "I enabled a plugin and now I can't run any plugins when I play
music..."

I understand it got closed according to standard procedure - but I don't feel
the original bug report has yet been fully read and understood by a human.

As I said, the bug is the lack of gui recovery options.
