Ikar6 - Don't know if you're still monitoring this, but I had that exact issue with Linksys wmp54g v4.1 as well. I recently went to Hardy beta, and that particular problem is fixed, but I get hard lockups with wireless enabled (see bug 204996). I'd be interested if you ever try Hardy and see the same thing.
