i have a similar problem with a Kodak DX 7590. Digikam can detect the
camera successfully, but can not show previews of the images (exactly
there are previews, but they are all broken) and cannot download any
images.

It is impossible to access the images in konqueror too. So the only
workaround for me is to use the command line interface:

gphoto2 --auto-detect -P

With this command i can download the images without any problems. But it
will be nice if the GUI will work too.

I have mad some investigations with google and have found the following
bug in kde bug tracking system. I think this is the same bug
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109277

Is there any change to incoporate this new version of libgphoto2 in
ubuntu Dapper Drake?
