This is because ntfs-3g is ignoring locales when mounting the ntfs
drive, at least when called from kde. I used to solve this in feisty by
having a entry in fstab specifying "locale=pt_PT.utf8" among other
options for the ntfs partitions/usb drives, but now on hardy if I have a
fstab entry I can only mount the drive as root. ( bug #205081 )
