I justed wanted to submit a bug, but I saw this one. The workaround
works for me.

I noticed it when trying to use the repository manager in Adept manager.
When clicking on e.g. the pulldown-menu with the servers; my system
locked up for 15 secs. (mouse was still working). The system was not
really locked up, because the background processes were still running. I
found these errors in my syslog:

----------------------------------------------------------

Apr 20 17:06:49 k-uptown scim-bridge: Failed to initialize scim

----------------------------------------------------------

I also saw this error in the Xorg.0.log:

----------------------------------------------------------
(EE) xf86OpenSerial: Cannot open device /dev/input/wacom
        No such file or directory.
Error opening /dev/input/wacom : Success
----------------------------------------------------------

I don't have a wacom tablet off course, but maybe its related.
