Public bug reported:

When I connect my iPod, it's automatically mounted, but as a regular
user I'm not able to eject it. I can unmount it, but that doesn't close
the USB connection, which means the iPod is still showing the "Do not
disconnect" message. Using "eject" I get:

$ eject /dev/sdb
eject: unable to open `/dev/sdb'

and using Nautilus it just prints "Cannot eject volume.". Note that for
example for CDs/DVDs it works fine.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
