For MOTU team: I know it is very late in release cycle, but this bug is known for half-year, and it is important - crashing, possible loss of data.
The 1.9 upstream version includes the needed bug fixes. Unless it will be used, all Ubuntu users for next months that try to use sshfs will experience segfaults, possibly when doing backups (common use according to bug report here).
