Binary package hint: compiz
When opening a program like Firefox, Compiz appears to start it and show
some corruption on booting, which goes away after a moment.
This behavior appears in Firefox and Xchat (clicking the xchat icon to
open xchat will result in corruption for a moment, or a black screen for
a moment).
Using Ubuntu 8.04 beta, with all updates applied.
