Public bug reported: I download the Kubuntu Alternate release candidate CD for i386 -- kubuntu-8.04-rc-alternate-i386.iso. In gutsy, I burn this (through k3b) to a new CD-R medium, first verifying the MD5 sum (its fine). I then reboot my computer (Authentic AMD Athlon Processor CPU family 6, model 4, 1.2 Mhz. Total physical memory - 256Mb) and ask to "Check CD for defects". It passes some of the verification levels, before finally crashing with this message:
The ./insall/netboot/ubuntu-installer/i386/initrd.gz file failed the MD5 checksum verification. Your CD-ROM or this file may have been corrupted. Note: I apologize for waiting so long to report this. I had noted it on the Kubuntu install feedback wiki previously, but had not filed an official bug. I've made a few CD-ROM coasters because of this continuing error. Please validate the CD's before posting them on the web. The Alternate CD's are not passing their own internal validation. Cheers! ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Kubuntu Alternate Install CD - Stop making coasters! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/220030 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
