This seems to have fixed itself for me too. I didn't have a massive problem with anything except web pages (including my own) - the black rectangles are gone when it comes to linking directly to pictures AND seeing them on webpages. Thanks, whatever you did; I'm assuming it was updates that fixed it! Roll on release!
