Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg
After a fresh edgy install, the system booted with a resolution 1024x768. The monitor and card are capable of displaying 1280x1024 but this isn't an option in the "Screen Resolution Preferences" dialog. It doesn't seem terribly user-friendly to expect the user to run dpkg- reconfigure or hand edit xorg.conf in order to make use of the higher resolutions. Is there a safe way to include the higher resolutions in the list even if a setting other than the maximum is deemed best? I believe the xorg.conf allows for this. --Dave ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Higher screen resolutions not an option on fresh install. https://launchpad.net/bugs/65796 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
