Hrm. Well, I did have some rules that were from early 2007.... they may have been from an old installation of Edgy.
I know that I did have some custom rules in there, but even removing them didn't fix it. I did install some software packages from source as well, and some of those may have created rules... AFAIK it is something that I did anyways, and considering that we don't have too many people with this issue (other than the 70-persistent-net.rules), it's probably nothing to worry about. I suppose I could re-reinstall, but I need my computer for work and school... and I really needed the bug fixed. Unfortunately, I forgot to save my old rules before reinstalling...
