OK, the reason it works fine on AMD64 is because libflashsupport is installed as part of ia32-libs.
Which raises the question -- why is there are 64-bit libflashsupport package? Total red herring. So, I've honestly not noticed any issue with Flash, the test case here works fine with npviewer on AMD64. If there's some airbag style wizardry going on, maybe we should just push for using npviewer on I386 too and reinstate libflashsupport.
