Since reporting this bug, I decided to test a theory by removing all
proprietary modules from my running kernel. So, I unloaded the
following:

vmnet(P) vmblock(P) vmmon(P) nvidia(P)

and I have not had a crash in over 19 hours. I am going to try another
couple of experiments. First, I will try running vmplayer for a while
without the nvidia binary module loaded and see if I have any crashes.
If I don't, I will switch and reload the nvidia module and unload the
vmware modules and see what happens.
