Since reporting this bug, I decided to test a theory by removing all proprietary modules from my running kernel. So, I unloaded the following:
vmnet(P) vmblock(P) vmmon(P) nvidia(P) and I have not had a crash in over 19 hours. I am going to try another couple of experiments. First, I will try running vmplayer for a while without the nvidia binary module loaded and see if I have any crashes. If I don't, I will switch and reload the nvidia module and unload the vmware modules and see what happens. -- [hardy] random kernel Oops with 2.6.24-16-generic x86_64 started after last hardy package update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/221223 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
