Excuse me, just typed -t instead of -r as switch for eject. I am not able to confirm this bug, creating a launcher on the gnome desktop using 'eject -r cdrom0' does actually eject the corresponding drive correctly.
Rizlaw: please try to enter 'eject -r cdrom0' within a terminal and report here if that does not open your drive's tray.
