I also have the same problem in Ubuntu 8.04 (x86_64) (!!!NOT BETA!!!). I am using a newer version of Ubuntu and Firefox but seems the bug is still not fixed. Firefox version: [Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008041515 Firefox/3.0b5].
