I have a similar experience that seems to have started after a recent, the past week or so, Hardy update.
Running Firefox 3 Beta 5 and doing nothing more, causes Firefox, I assume, to access my HD for a number of seconds during which time Firefox will not respond. I've watched running processes, from another workspace, but it seems that whatever is going on gets in the way of updating CPU usage until whatever it is gets close to being done with whatever it's doing. Then I see an increase in CPU usage by Firefox but by that time Firefox is done and usage falls back to zero. All the other processes remain "Sleeping" except for system-monitor of course. Firefox will run fine for a while loading pages and doing what it's supposed to do. But then, without warning... This behavior continues off and on, at times quite a few minutes apart, until I close Firefox. No other application I run causes this problem. -- Whole system freezes often / Hardy beta https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216406 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
