Done. Two more points: 1. I used Alternate CD to do the upgrade 2. This happened after rkhunter failed to upgrade (see a separate bug). After that, the upgrade GUI said, it failed and will clean up after itself, after a reboot everything seems to be ok (except for rkhunter which I had to uninstall because system complained every time I did something via Synaptic Package manager).
