Onkar, Daniel: I can confirm that the Mouse I use (Targus AMB01) uses a Broadcom Chipset (see lsusb above)
I tested it with Dapper on two different laptops with 32 and 64 bit. I also tested Edgy (I think it was Knot3). None of them work out of the box. As said above I am willing to sponsor one developer with a Targus AMB01.
