I just upgrade from 7.10 to 8.04 LTS yesterday. The gdmsetup runs normally yesterday before I disable the indexing. When I run the gdmetup, it shows no error message, but Sebastien says, it triggers a trackerd up to search for something (I don't know). So, if I run the indexing, then gdmsetup runs without any delay or disk busy. My question is : is the indexing so important in this new version gdm? what's the possible impact to disable it? (especially on this gdmsetup tool)
