gksu gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base options snd-hda-intel model=mbp3 saved the file, restarted my Intel iMac 24", and voila... there is sound Note: I listen to embedded media content (such as YouTube) to the max, while master volume is set to 75%.
