Upstream has decided to ignore this issue - basically the developers prefer the existing behavior over the proposed change, even though my wife is ready to strangle me over it for forcing her to use OO instead of MS programs (Ubuntu itself doesn't matter to her). I don't suppose there's any chance of getting the change incorporated into the Ubuntu OO build? Further comments to this thread asking for changes won't help, you will need to post them to the upstream bug (click in the "assigned to" section above), but it sounds like additional "I don't like this comments" will just be ignored.
