Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

Since upgrading to Kubunto Hardy from the previous release, I have found
that the previously stable Compiz crashes at least once a day, causing
my display manager to revert to kdm.

The only message I can find in any log about this is a single segfault line in
/var/log/syslog, viz:
Apr 28 21:15:19 antwerp kernel: [18893.669473] compiz.real[9653]: segfault at
20 rip 7f87468e6edf rsp 7fff51784150 error 4

Apr 29 09:49:17 antwerp kernel: [ 1911.139160] compiz.real[9907]:
segfault at 1000001cf rip 426712 rsp 7fffebb30500 error 4

Apr 30 11:40:56 antwerp kernel: [ 7021.196458] compiz.real[10240]:
segfault at 1000001cf rip 426712 rsp 7fffc8e2f830 error 4

Nothing APPARENTLY relevant appears in the Xorg log or in .xsession-
errors, but I have attached these in case they help.

I can't find any way to run Compiz in any kind of debug mode; if there's
a way I'm happy to do so to gather more data.
