I have this problem with my Radeon 9800 Pro on Hardy. White screen when I enable compiz - only the cursor is shown. This is a problem both with radeon and fglrx drivers.
For me this is a regression. Compiz worked fine - even on the LiveCD and was auto-enabled by default on Gutsy.
