I got kubuntu 8.04 installed and get the same problem. First the screen-saver starts. If I disable the screen-saver then after 20 min. the screen turns off. I'm running Totem Movie Player 2.22.1. using xine-lib version 1.1.11.1. If I run kaffeine I don't have this problem.
