Hi, I'm a new Ubuntu user. I have Cliff's same configuration, but with more RAM:
Computer is IBM Thinkpad T42 CPU= Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.70 Ghz Display= ATI MOBILITY RADEON 7500 AGP (0x4C57) Memory= 1 GBMB Ubuntu 7.04 works fine, I can do anything: change my desktop effects (ease effects on windows and desks on 3D cube ), see and surf with my wireless internet connection. Versione 7.10 let me surf online with the wireless, but gives me some graphic issues: NO normal and NO extra visual effects on the desktop environment (message: «Desktop effects could not be enabled»). Version 8.04 has the same graphic problems, and I can't also hear any sound, because the OS can't find any sound devices. NO wireless connection too. Any suggestions?
