I had the same issue hit my system when I used the updater to upgrade to HH. When I tried to reboot, it couldn't find the SATA drive. I had to add "pci=nomsi" to the boot parameters in order to get the system running. Then I had to add the same to the /boot/grub/menu.lst file.
