I've tried all the above, to no avail. Even with laptop mode enabled, and set to execute on resume (laptop_mode is enabled after resume), apm = 128 and I have to change the setting manually. I'm beginning to think this might actually be another bug, unless someone has some suggestions about where to look for something that is over-riding anything and everything that I do to maintain hdd apm settings after resume. It is also extremely confusing to have apm, acpi, hdparm, laptop-mod, and pm- utils (and any others?) potentially controlling the same settings. Thoughts?
