Hi there, same problem for me! Really annoying bug. Over time my Dell D630 heats up because of this bug. I don't give any logs because they lock exactly like mentioned. You would love to use the solution mentioned above by @Tobias Heinemann but I'm unable to compile a kernel myself.
I did compile linux kernels years ago but ubuntu drives me nuts. I try to build a vanilla kernel with one extra option CONFIG_MODULE_FORCE_UNLOAD but then when I try to use me newly created kernel/modules the system won't oven go to sleep mode any more. I mean that is a solution too but mhhh. An also the hole folder in /lib/modules/`uname -r`/ubuntu is missing. So no sound *snd_hda_intel) no dvb no nothing. And there is absolutly no information available how to get these modules in your own compilation. Now I rember why I used Red Hat Distributions for years.... argghh ;-) Hopefully, someone is able to help me a little. Or just compile a working kernel/modules. I mean "dual core" support really shouldn't be that hard nowadays ... Thanks, Mark P.S.
