It is not necessary to reinstall the OS. Just reinstalling CUPS should
do the trick and restore the original cupsd.conf. Please run the
following commands in a terminal to do that:

$ sudo dpkg --purge --force-depends cupsys
$ sudo apt-get install cupsys
