Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg-driver-fglrx

I am here with problem with fglrx. The behaviour is strange. I am using stock
packets from edgy but the situation is similar with ati driver 8.28.8.
My card is a Sapphire ATI 9100 with 64 MB memory.
The problem is with DRI I think. If I start the machine with the correct
xorg.conf, not enabling Composite and AIGLX the machine start and fglrxinfo
gives the correct answer. The machine works for a random time, I can even do
fgl_glgears with almost 200 FPS, but after some time with an application which
can vary (firefox eventually but the worst is amule which freeze the machine
immediately) the screen freezes almost completely and immediately. Is not even
possible to switch to VT1. Only the mouse follows your moves, but no keyclick
or anything. You have to hard reboot. You can always reproduce the bug if you
start after gnome amule. I have a normal ADSl connection with a Zyxel router. I
include the link to a forum of edgy where you can xorg.conf, logfiles and so on.
If you launch the application (for example amule) and switch to VT1 you can do
it but as soon as you are back to VT7 you see the screen freezed and you cannot
do nothing except rebooting. And while you are on VT1 nothing anormal seems to
happen. top does not give an application which is eating all memory or cpu and
so on.
Please help me! Please do not tell me use radeon driver because radeon driver
does not work with tvtime (no overlay apparently).
I attach some information.
Thank you very much
