Sorry to be impatient, but what is the best solution to this? It happens to me on both my home and work machines (two completely different platforms), and it happens between dissimilar applications, so I don't think it's unique to my setup. I tried changing System > preferences > Sound > Sound playback from Autodetect to the specific audio device on my mobo, to ALSA, and to OSS, but it only seems to fix the problem momentarily. It seems like a pretty serious bug if a sound service can't handle output from several applications at once. What am I missing?
