Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nvidia-glx-new

Ubuntu GNU/Linux 8.04 (Hardy Heron) 64bit desktop

post-removal script returns error code 2 (dpkg-divert:
«/usr/lib32/libGL.so.1»: No such file or directory)

Once tried on a NVidia Geforce FX5500 graphics card, Compiz locks the
computer and need to uninstall that driver. The next step was to disable
the restricted driver with the restricted drivers manager. Now I can't
install any package because of this error.

I've tried with:
sudo dpkg --configure -a

And:
sudo apt-get purge nvidia-glx-new
