I can confirm this bug on Hardy. After starting shaketracker, the system
freezes before the window is even fully drawn. Changing to terminal
(Ctrl-F*) doesn't work after the freeze, but SysRq magic works. I'll
send an strace output in next comment (don't want to write this again
;).

$ uname -a
Linux tuska 2.6.24-16-386 #1 Thu Apr 10 12:50:06 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux

shaketracker   0.4.6-5build2

Perhaps related packages (at least some of these wasn't installed before
shaketracker)

||/ Name           Version        Description
+++-==============-==============-============================================
ii libglib1.2ldbl 1.2.10-19build The GLib library of C routines
ii libgtk1.2 1.2.10-18.1bui The GIMP Toolkit set of widgets for X
ii  libgtkmm1.2-0c 1.2.10-8.1     C++ wrappers for GTK+ 1.2 (shared libraries)
ii  libsigc++0c2   1.0.4-9.2      Type-safe Signal Framework for C++ - runtime

I have only hardy universe/multiverse/backports/updates enabled, but may have
some residual packages from 3rd party repositories, but all of the dependencies
should be just hardy.
