You're right.
After spending hours making the "not present" lines change to "present" (I've 
had a lot of strange behaviors after installing proprietary ati/amd from their 
installer, and then trying envy), I still have the last line :

"Comparing resolution (2560x1024) to maximum 3D texture size (2048):
Failed"

I tried to force compiz startup (echo "SKIP_CHECKS=yes" >
~/.config/compiz/compiz-manager), and ... in fact it runs but I only see
artifatcs :p

Well, is there any way to hack somewhere or to make only one screen out of the 
2 compiz-enabled ?
Or maybe running two compiz, synchronized, one for each screen ? Yeah yeah, I 
know, that's SF ...
