Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kubuntu-kde4-desktop
Hi Using KDE 4.04 (Kubuntu 8.04), if I insert an audio cd into the drive nothing happens, the drive spins a bit but nada - not mounted at all (I checked the mounpoint) and Dolphin shows nothing. If I insert the same disc into the drive when using KDE 3.5.9 on the same machine, the drive mounts and K3B pops up. This happens with all disks picked randomly. Not too sure about why this is occurring, having a dud CD drive in KDE4 is a bit annoying. Here are some hardware specs: Machine: Dell Inspiron 8600 CD (lshw) *-cdrom description: DVD reader product: DVD+RW ND-5100A vendor: _NEC physical id: 1 bus info: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:0.0.0 logical name: /dev/cdrom logical name: /dev/dvd logical name: /dev/scd0 logical name: /dev/sr0 version: 10AC serial: [_NEC DVD+RW ND-5100A 10AC03071400 capabilities: removable audio cd-r cd-rw dvd configuration: ansiversion=5 status=ready *-medium physical id: 0 logical name: /dev/cdrom ** Affects: kubuntu-kde4-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- CD audio disks not detected in KDE4, works perfectly in KDE3 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/230985 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
