Public bug reported:

I use a wireless network at home, and everything works fine till there is a
power cut and the wireless signal is lost...
Once the power is back and the wireless signal is restored, Ubuntu refuses to
connect to the wireless network and I have to reboot my laptop to be able to
connect to it again... Even loggin off and on doesn't help...
I'm running a fully updated version of Hardy Heron...
I think my wireless card is:
0c:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM94311MCG wlan mini-PCI (rev
01)

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
