I can confirm kaz' observation just above: I can install with the 16 Oct
Daily build liveCD, but the system freezes once it's been booted (an
ardous process in itself, with manual grub'ing (see bug 66667)).

Errors are :

PCI: JMB36x: Enabling dual function on 0000:03:00.0
PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 0 of device 0000:03:00.0
PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 1 of device 0000:03:00.0
PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 2 of device 0000:03:00.0
PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 3 of device 0000:03:00.0
PCI: Error while updating region 0000:03:00.0/0 (00009008 != 00000000)
PCI: Error while updating region 0000:03:00.0/2 (00009010 != 00000000)
ALERT! /dev/hda1 does not exist. Dropping to a shell!

Can NOT confirm Aryc's observation: changing BIOS setting to RAID/IDE instead
of IDE kills the boot at this:
PCI: JMB36x: Enabling dual function on 0000:03:00.0

Does not drop to a shell, nothing...
