Public bug reported: Since upgrading my laptop to Hardy Heron, I've suddenly noticed a new problem. When I transfer large files to Hardy (for instance using rsync or scp) from my desktop (which is an unupgraded Feisty Fawn), the (wireless) network stalls on the laptop. The file transfer continues, but any other network access stalls to almost the stopping point. It makes browsing impossible, and pinging other computers also fails. Strangely enough Feisty Fawn on the other end of the large file transfer *also* has this same problem now, previously unobserved. Other computers in the same network don't seem to be affected while this is going on.
The laptop contains an iwl4965 wireless card. The problem didn't exist pre-upgrade of the laptop (it was on Gutsy). The desktop has some atheros card. After the large file transfer has been completed, the network returns to normal (on both ends). ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- heavy network activity stalls network (on both ends) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/234484 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
